ICT
The Churchlands ICT Department facilitates students and teachers in consuming and sharing digital information at the School to enhance creativity and learning capabilities. Since 2014 Churchlands has continued to encourage the use of technology by starting a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Program for all student groups. Through research and feedback we have adopted technologies, devices and software that will deliver the best outcomes for our students and teachers whilst maintaining a safe and robust Windows environment for all users.
Part of this strategy is our extensive integration with Office 365 (for data storage, collaboration and the latest creation tools); a unique logon, password and e-mail for each student at the school; new computer labs with industry standard software on all machines; an ICT helpdesk (available to all students Mon-Fri) and touch and stylus for staff and student laptops (allowing us to strike a better balance between the consumption and creation of content).
A portal is also provided by the school to keep everyone informed (SEQTA) and can be accessed inside and outside of the school network. If you are a student, you will be presented with SEQTA Learn and if you are parent, you will be presented with SEQTA Engage. This is a great place to see notifications, alerts and marks books activities for your child.
The ICT office is open before and after school (8.00am to 9.10am and 3.15pm to 4.30pm) and during recess and lunch.
